Hello again! I had fun sharing our summer and spring related craft and book pairings last year, I wanted to continue that by sharing the winter ones that I have saved up. There were a few that were so fun to do with my sweet girl while we were homeschooling her! I am setting this one up the same way that I set up the summer one so I hope that you get lost in stories and glitter this winter with your little ones!
** I make a VERY small commission on some of these links, I will note if there is a cheaper option that I found somewhere else. I only get commission from Amazon links **
Bear Snores on & Bear on a Plate: One of the sweetest books about friendship and community.
Materials: Paper plates || Tissue paper (hobby lobby has it the least expensive) || Construction paper || Sharpie || Glue (stick or liquid)

The Snowy Day & A Glittery Hill: This book has so much to offer for new readers especially. We enjoyed taking a story walk and trying to tell the story through the very vivid pictures before actually reading the words.
Materials: Construction paper || Paint || Glitter (yes, come on, it’s so fun) || Print out of Peter || Paint brush

Green Eggs and Ham & Green Eggs: This is one of my favorite Dr. Seuss books ever. We typically read it around the time of his birthday. This year we will add in actual green (dyed) eggs. For this project we used a template, but it’s just as easy to draw and cut out your own egg.
Materials: Construction paper || printer paper || Sharpie (green or black) || Green tissue paper || Yellow marker

Snowmen at Work & Snowman Sun Catcher: If you haven’t read any of the books in this series, you need to. It is an adorable series that walks you through what snowmen do while we’re sleeping.
Materials: Contact paper (clear) || Tissue paper (blue) || Orange construction paper (for the nose if you want) || Sharpie (for the eyes)

Lemonade in Winter & Lemonade: This book isn’t a one that I’ve seen on a lot of people’s shelves and it needs to be. It is a math book with an adorable story line great for kids of all ages but especially elementary age.
Materials: Pitcher || Lemonade Mix (or actual lemons if you want to make real lemonade) || Water
Additional Idea: If you want to work with older kiddos on money, you can host a winter lemonade (and hot cocoa) stand.

My plan is to do more of these this spring with my littlest. We have had a blast doing these book and craft pairings over the last year and I hope that they encourage you as well. You don’t need anything fancy, you don’t even have to buy the books (thanks to your local libraries), you just have to set aside some intentional time and create.
