Cozy Winter Soup Recipes

Happy New Year!! I Hope that you had a wonderful holiday season and break (if you get one). We have enjoyed some time as a family, and we’ve spent some time in the kitchen making some delicious food. I have a lot of great blog posts planned for this year and I can’t wait to share them with you!

I’ve been making soups and chili for a little while now. I absolutely love it now that it getting a little colder here in the south. I have had this post planned for half a year because I kept finding some really yummy recipes that I wanted to share (and try). Below you will find some of my favorites, some classics and some that I am definitely going to be trying.

Let’s get cooking: Each these have so many different recipe options, but I linked the ones I liked the best or the ones that I use. I will add my notes if do anything different!

Creamy Corn Chowder: This is a delicious recipe, but I like a little bit more meat in mine, so I add some conecuh sausage into mine. If you can’t find that you can also add kielbasa.

Autumn Squash Soup: (yes I know it’s winter not fall, but this is delicious all winter long). You really need a blender or a food processor for this one if you want it creamy like it’s supposed to be, just an FYI!

Broccoli Cheddar Soup: I have already printed this one out for myself. I have a new found love for broccoli (not sure why it took me so many years to like it), so we will for sure be trying this soup ASAP.

French Onion Soup: This is not one of my favorites. I’m not sure why, I’ve never really given it a try, but I know so many people who love it, including my husband, so I HAD to include it. Julia Child has a really good recipe for this soup (apparently), and I found it on a fellow bloggers page, so that is what is linked above.

Loaded Potato Soup: this is another one of my favorite soups. It is so cozy and warm and filling. I first had this at Panera and fell in love, but I’ve since had some from Sam’s club and loved it just as much. I’m still perfecting my homemade version.

White Chicken Chili: This is another one of my favorites. I need to make it more often, but when we make it, we eat way too much of it! There are so many different ways to make it. I am a fan of the simple versions.

Classic Chicken Noodle Soup: There is nothing like eating this when you don’t feel good, but sometimes I forget that you can eat it other times too.

Shepherd’s Pie Soup: This one I found while looking for some new recipes. I’m not sure how to feel about it, but I’m sure that there are some people who will love this!

Homemade Tomato Soup: This is literally the best thing to have with grilled cheese. I’m not sure I’ve ever eaten it with anything else, but I love it, especially during the winter months.

German Potato Soup: This is another delicious take on potato soup. My sister makes a really yummy version of this and I can for sure tell you that you won’t be disappointed.

Creamy Tortellini Soup: There were so many choices for this one. I have never made, it but now I kind of want to because this particular recipe sounds delicious. The other really popular version of this is a tomato based stock.

I hope that you are enjoying this winter season wherever you are. I always find myself looking for cozy things to do this time of year, but I’m also a little lost without all of my Christmas decor. So I will fill some of my time with cooking and finding new things to make for my little family.

I only included 10 soups so I am sure that I missed some, but did I miss your favorite soup/chili? Let me know in the comments and I’ll add it to a future post!
