I had such a fun time writing last years fun fact round up, that I decided to make it an annual thing. Keep this post in your back pocket for a boring moment where you need to fill in the space with something random. Some of these have sparked some fun conversations between my husband and I. I highly suggest bringing these on a long car ride when you need to help keep the driver awake (tried and tested this).
Without further ado here is my 2022 random fact roundup:
- George Washington’s teeth were made from a mix of human teeth, animal teeth and ivory.
- Australia is wider than the moon.
- On average, golf balls have 336 dimples
- Human teeth are the only part of our bodies that cannot heal itself.
- Nutmeg (yes the spice) is a hallucinogen (if consumed in large quantities it can have mind altering effects).
- People are more creative in the shower (it’s so true, some of my best blog post ideas happen in there).
- The Dallas Cowboys hired the first professional cheerleading squad in 1972.
- The world’s smallest mammal is a Bumblebee bat (do yourself a favor and google them, they are so cute).
- The Pittsburgh Penguins once has a live penguin mascot named Slapshot Pete.

- J was the last letter that was added to the alphabet.

I love writing these posts because I learn so many fun and random things from all over the internet. I’m 90% sure all of these are true (I’m clearly not a graduate level researcher, but I try my best to only share things that have been fact checked).
