5 Stars- HIGHLY recommend wearing a mask. They are super trendy and go with every outfit. You can get one for every day of the week. Heck you can even add a face shield so that when Paula spits while she talks, it doesn’t touch your face!
If I had to review the masks themselves, I’d give them 0 stars. I’ll be the first to admit that they can be cute but it’s really hard to find a comfortable one.
In all seriousness. Wearing a mask is the least you can do. It’s 2020, the world is just about on fire (literally parts of California are on fire, I know that’s not exclusive to 2020, but it’s just another layer). Wearing a mask is mandated in 34 states here in the US. Meaning 34 states agree that it’s just plain stupid to not wear one.
I hear you anti-maskers in the back shouting at me that I’m infringing on your rights, but by not wearing a mask YOU’RE INFRINGING ON SOMEONE ELSE’S RIGHT TO LIVE. It sounds dramatic, but scientists have literally done research on this. Heck our favorite childhood scientist, Bill Nye (don’t cringe, I never said I agree with his politics), did an experiment proving the effectiveness of masks.
Why should you care though?
I shouldn’t even have to explain this to you. People are dying. Sure the numbers are slowing down, but if you could help prevent even one more death by wearing that mask, why wouldn’t you? Like seriously a life is a life.
I will admit that I was anti-mask at first. Which is scary because I have a preemie and I MYSELF have a terrible immune system. However, I didn’t do any research, I just didn’t like being told what to do by the government. I do however, trust my doctors. The doctors who saved my life just last year. The doctors (and nurses) who saved my daughters life, just last year. If they could save my life then, how could I not listen to them now.
I originally wanted to make this post funny. I had all these funny ideas to write about and jokes to make, but then I realized, it’s really not funny, playing with other people’s lives isn’t funny. Making excuses to not wear one, isn’t funny.
My hope is that wearing masks will be a thing of the past next year. My hope is that the good Lord provides what’s needed to solve this global pandemic.
Until then, wear the dang mask. Wear it in the store, and to church. Wear it at a wedding and a (social distanced) picnic. This isn’t the end all be all. It won’t be like this forever, (I don’t know about you) but I’d like my people to be around longer than 2020.
