A Couch Workout Review

5 Stars- This is the best new workout routine I have seen in a long time. No need to go to the gym, no need for meal replacement shakes, or green crap that tastes like mushed baby food. These easy workouts will definitely start to replace all those other home workouts, especially if we are confined to our homes any longer. I highly recommend these home couch workouts.

** Don’t judge my pictures, this is a judgement free workout zone. We are here to build each other up and support one another, they’re deff NOT Instagram worthy. **

Let me get right to it, below I’ll share pictures, and the technical name of each workout move. Under each picture I’ll walk you through how to complete the movements.

Dumbbell Soda Arm Lift Things:

Find your favorite soda (mine happens to be Diet A&W Root Beer). The bottles can be cold or room temperature, but make sure it’s your favorite kind because you might get thirsty during your workout. Next, sit yourself on the edge of your favorite couch cushion (we all have one) and begin lifting your arms up and down as pictured, you may feel a burn (especially if you don’t lift often), or you may not, but it’s worth a shot.

Russian Taco Twists:

To start this one, you need to either make, or go pick up some fresh tacos. I chose to get mine from Taco Bell because they have the best tacos in my opinion. Posture doesn’t really matter for this one, just make sure you lovingly gaze at your tacos. This exercise could help you get rid of love handles, but don’t worry, they won’t be gone for long because tacos sit perfectly on your sides creating the love part of love handles.

Barbell Lift Above Your Head Move (or something like that):

This is one of my favorites, you actually get to lay down on the couch. If you want less of a burn, you can place a soft pillow under your head. I used a simple pressure rod that I had lying around to hold my weights. For your weights, make sure to search and find your FAVORITE doughnuts. For this workout I needed something quick, so I just ran to Dunkin’. If Dunkin’ isn’t your place, there are so many doughnut shops, just google them. Once you have your barbell set up, lay on the couch and raise your arms up and down. I do about 1 rep of 10 and then take a bite real quick before continuing.

Cake Stand Squats:

I absolutely hate squats, my form is poor (according to my sister) and there’s so much pressure on my poor left knee, however, if you want a nice butt, squats are important. You need to make sure you have the proper motivation. My motivation of choice is a cake stand full of Oreo cupcakes. This one can be done with so many different baked goods. Say you have a German Chocolate Cake laying around, that would work too, or frosted brownies! Whatever you choose, put it on the cake stand and squat with it. After like, 3 or 4 squats, go ahead and reward yourself with a bite, you’ve earned it.

My final tip for you is to find a good show on Netfix and binge watch the heck out of it while you workout on the couch. If this workout doesn’t scream “I’ve been quarantined for too long”, I don’t know what will.

Feel free to share these EXCELLENT workout tips with your friends and family. I guarantee you’ll see results (maybe not the ones you like, but still results).
