occasionally funny, always a mess

Fall & Winter Family Crafts

It’s been far too long since my last family craft post. Having a kiddo in school has made family crafts a lot harder to do, but it’s the holiday season and I am determined to do some of these with my kiddos. Some will be crafts that I have done in the past and some will be ones that we are planning on doing this fall

These will be a good mix of “from scratch” and from a kit, because the point is not to add one more thing to your to-do list, but rather to give you something to do as a family.

Fall Mason Jar Decor Craft (for older kiddos):
What you’ll Need – Paint (fall colors of your choice, mason jars, twine, burlap ribbon, black puff paint, artificial fall foliage (walmart has them for $2).

Turkey Hand and Footprint Craft: I wish that I had a better picture of this. It was take over a decade ago with some kiddos that I loved dearly long before I had kiddos of my own an of course I put a filter on it, but it’s super simple and a great keepsake.
What you’ll need: card stock or colorful construction paper, brown construction paper, crayons, glue, scissors.

Winter Bear Craft:
What You’ll Need – Paper plates, brown tissue paper, brown construction paper, black construction paper, sharpie, glue.

I Love You Snow Much, Hand Print Craft: It snowed for the first time in a very long time here last year and it was a record snow fall, so we memorialized the day in a craft. It was so fun.

I hope you get to laugh as a family this season. I hope you take the time to slow down and focus on each other. Even if you don’t spend a penny, I hope you still make family time a priority. My greatest joy is being with my people and I never take that time for granted. Doing activities with them is just a happy bonus.
