I had a plan before my son was born to throw him a Toy Story party for his second birthday but when it came time to actually throw the party, he had no interest in Toy Story and was instead obsessed with Cars and Hot Wheels. Thus came a Racing into 2 Party.
What: 2 year old birthday party
When: Any time of year
Where: We had it at home because that is my favorite place to be, but you can host it anywhere.
Theme: Racing into 2
Colors Used: Black, Red, Yellow and Blue
Food: (images courtesy of @lizziemichalak)
- Stop Lights: Brownies with M&M’s
- Steering Wheels: Ranch pinwheels
- Nuts and Bolts: Trail Mix (tailored to my sons likes)
- Spare Tires: Little Debbies Doughnuts
- Hot Rods: Pigs in a blanket (it’s not a party without them)
- Engine Blocks: Cheese
- Air Filters: Crackers
- Cake: Made by Grandma

Beverages (images courtesy of @lizziemichalak)
- Motor Oil: Coffee
- Hydraulic Fluid: Sweet Tea
- Coolant: Water

Decor: (images courtesy of @lizziemichalak)
- Two Fast sign: DIY (see my other birthday post for how to do this)
- Stop Lights: poster board with construction paper
- Racing Party Supplies: all bought from Hobby Lobby
- Hanging Trucks: (not pictured but also from Hobby Lobby)

Activities: (images courtesy of @lizziemichalak)
- Race Car: The kids are blessed with lots of grandparents and their very favorite Papa Mike has the coolest race car, so he brought it and let the kids check it out at the party.
- Tracks: I made this with a table cloth and duct tape

Party Favors: (images courtesy of @lizziemichalak)
- Hot wheels: we had so much fun picking these out
- Allergy Friendly lollipops

This party brought so much joy to a little car loving boy. It was simple and fun and cost me less than $150 total to throw. I know our parties won’t always be like this but this is as close to a Pinterest mom as I’ll ever be, so I’m going to document it while I can. Thanks for sticking around through 5 years of party inspo!
