What a wonderful day to celebrate. This should be a national holiday. I’m not sure why it’s not. Anyway, something cool about being an adult is that you can have dessert whenever you want. There doesn’t have to be a special occasion or even a reason other than you wanting it, so here you will find recipes to fit your fancy.
My goal here is to bring you recipes that you haven’t tried, or haven’t thought of in a while. As always links are credited to the bloggers who posted them originally (I make no money on these, I just want you to find something to enjoy 😉).
Coconut Creme Pie – I am not a fan of pie, but this one makes me want to eat ALL the pie. I will never perfect this pie, but this recipe helped me come pretty close.
Apple Nachos – This is great for those of you that love Carmel apples but don’t want to break your teeth.
Chocolate Scotcheroos – This is one of my favorite childhood recipes. It used to be printed on the side of the rice Krispy cereal box, but now you can just find it on their website.
Lemon Pound Cake – Until I got married, I had never had this. In fact I didn’t think I even liked lemon. Tuns out, I just needed the right recipe. This is a pound cake so it takes more time to make but I promise it’s worth it.
Easy Indoor S’mores – This went viral on my Instagram and it’s literally 3 ingredients.
Monster Cookies – You can never go wrong with cookies and these are perfect for when you can’t decide which kind of cookie you want.
Oreo Layer Cake – This is a recipe that my friend made once and I have not stopped thinking about it (or making it) since. You can thank me later.
Apple Crisp Cookie Cups – I can’t forget to add in some fall favorite recipes! I had a lot of fun making these last year.
Snickerdoodle Cobbler – I have seen many versions of a cobbler in my day, but this is a new one.
Chocolate Strawberry Bark – Another crowd pleaser and this one is semi healthy for those of you that need that as an option.
Cannoli Cups – A different take on a classic dessert!
Sugar Cookie Tacos – This is such a fun way to spice up your cookie game and you can top them with anything that you enjoy.
Whoopie Pies – You know the ones, but these are better because they’re homemade and there are so many more flavors.
Samoa Cookie Pie – Anyone love Samoa Girl Scout cookies? I haven’t tried this recipe yet, but this looks so yummy!
Catch a Husband Cake – I genuinely have no idea what this is, but it’s a gem I’m adding so that you get a giggle (and maybe a husband) if you’ve read this far!
No Bake Oreo Balls – These used to be my favorite. I haven’t made them in forever.
Lemon Truffles – Another super yummy lemon recipe.
Cotton Candy Cookies – I’m not sure how these will actually taste but I bet they would be a hit with all the kids in your life and they are so cute.
Pumpkin Ooey Gooey Cake – My friends mom makes this and it truly is heaven. I cannot explain to you how good this is with words. You need to eat it yourself.
Strawberry Shortcake Bars – I love these. That is all. If you ever loved the strawberry shortcake ice cream bars, you will love this recipe.
And finally, as I was writing this my husband peeked over my shoulder and wanted me to remind you that November 10th is national Tiramisu day. It’s not an actual thing, but he doesn’t like to celebrate his birthday so instead we created a fake holiday to celebrate that day so that I could still make him his favorite dessert. That said, here is a recipe to a tiramisu in case you want to partake:
Thanks for sticking around for all of these recipes. I hope you found something fun to make either for yourself for a gathering. I cannot wait to bake more as the weather cools down enough for me to use my oven more again.
