occasionally funny, always a mess

DIY Fourth of July Party

This winter, we lost a great patriot. Someone who didn’t fight for this country, but loved it so deeply and supported our troops in any way he could. That man was Toby Keith. Before you laugh, google what he did for our military during his lifetime. Anyway, we started listening to his songs again and talking about how we used to celebrate the Fourth of July so big.

Who: All your people
What: A Patriotic party
When: July 4th
Where: The Backyard

Decor: Bunting Flags || Small Flags || 26 Piece kit || GIANT LED Flag || Pennant Banners || Inflatable || Tableware Option 1 || Tableware Option 2 || Lawn Decor

Playlist Links: Apple Music Family Playlist || Spotify Fourth of July Playlist
You can always make your own, but these can help get you started.

Food: (you can be as over the top or as simple as you want. I am going to link the really fun versions of these recipes, but feel free to make the regular ones that taste just as good! Also, to note a lot of these are from Pinterest, all credit goes to the blogs that are linked).
Taco Dip || Oreo Cheesecake || Fruit Sparklers || Pasta Salad || Patriotic Muddy Buddies || Maple Baked Beans || Hot dogs (pick your favorites) or Beer Brats || Hamburgers || Corn Dogs || Homemade Mac ‘n’ Cheese || Chips (literally a must for a picnic) || Potato Salad || Oreo Balls || Fruit Salsa

Activities: Fireworks (No links, you have to find your own) || Sparklers || Glow sticks || Corn Hole (option 1), (option 2) || Water Balloons (disposable), (reusable) || Horseshoes Game || Ladder Toss || Giant Uno || Slip and Slide

As always, you can come up with your own activities, but these are some of my favorites. A little bit of everything for different interests. If you have a pool, you don’t need as much out there, but I’m just assuming that most of us don’t have pools.

There you have it. Clean up is easy because you are outside. Use paper plates and plastic utensils and you’ll barely have dishes too. I’m ready for a party this year. I’m not sure where we will have it, or who will be there, but I at least know what food I’m bringing. I hope you have a fantastic Fourth of July and go all out this year!
