This is going to be a little different from my regular posts but it’s something that I wrote and I want it to have a place. I am going to post date it to when it was written (and supposed to be posted, but I chickened out). These words are from my heart and I hope that they resonate with you too.
If this chair could talk, it would tell you of a mama praying over her swollen pregnant belly. It would tell you of the dreams she had about the little one growing inside of her.
If this chair could talk, it would tell you of each and every late-night feed. Every bottle made and every soft peaceful moment we had at 3 am just the two of us when the world was quiet.
If this chair could talk it would tell you of the songs that I’ve sung and the books that I’ve read to little eyes and ears eager to hear and learn.
If this chair could talk it would tell you of the times I rocked a growing toddler who wasn’t quite ready to give up her naps and still needed some cuddles. It would tell you that I clung to those moments because I was never sure which one would be the last.
If this chair could talk it would tell you of all the milestone pictures we’ve taken there.
If this chair could talk it would tell you of the stains that it proudly wears from all the snacks we’ve shared in it.
If this chair could talk it would tell you of a mom who needed just a second to hang her head in her hands and breathe because it can be all too overwhelming sometimes.
If this chair could talk it would tell you of my motherhood journey. The beauty that comes with finding yourself again in a new way.
If only this chair could talk.
This has also been shared on my social media if you’d like to share it! (posted October 30th).
