Winter Break Bucket List

Last year during the fall I gave you a fall bucket list review, where I laid out which of the traditional fall bucket list items to do and which ones were worth skipping. This was a post that I really enjoyed, so I decided to do another take on it and bring to you a Winter Break Bucket List. I’m not sure how long your winter break is (most of them are about a week and a half where I grew up), so I won’t make the list too overwhelming, but I hope that this gives you ideas to do with your kiddos while they are home with you.

  1. Build a puzzle
  2. Have a picnic in the living room (or outside if you are adventurous)
  3. 30 minutes of reading (either each day, or just in total)
  4. Take a walk down the street (or a nice neighborhood if you can’t walk down your street)
  5. Bake Cookies
  6. Play a card game
  7. Go to the local movie theater
  8. Make dinner as a family
  9. Write an old fashioned letter to a friend or relative and mail it
  10. Go to the local library
  11. Play a board game
  12. Stay up late watching movies
  13. Have a family sleepover in the living room
  14. Play with play dough
  15. Build a giant fort
  16. Have a pajama day
  17. Go ice skating
  18. Donate a few old toys to charity
  19. Write out family goals for 2023
  20. Make snow angels (if it snows where you are)
  21. Have breakfast in bed
  22. Play indoor hide and seek
  23. Write a one sentence story (each person can only contribute one sentence at a time and the story builds as everyone adds their sentence. You can all decide when it feels finished, then read the story out loud and have a laugh).
  24. Make/Decorate a gingerbread house
  25. Make hot cocoa/ Have apple cider
  26. Take a long car ride but don’t get out
  27. Go bowling as a family
  28. Give the kids each $5 and let them pick something at the store
  29. Color/ paint pictures together
  30. Make a memory box (and open it at the same time next year)

I hope that these bring you some joy this winter season and I hope that you take the time to make precious memories with your family. Kids grow up way too fast, but these are the kinds of days that they will remember. Can you think of anything else that I should have added? Be sure to comment below with your additions.

** Feel free to screenshot this list and use it as your own. I had planned on making you a printable list, but having a baby got in the way. Hopefully I’ll be a bit more organized next year for you! **
