A Life In Review

For quite some time I have been toying with the idea of coming back to blogging. I used to blog all the time. It was therapeutic for me. Then blogging took off and everyone had a blog. I didn’t want to be just another blogger, so one day I stopped. I never stopped writing though, I just couldn’t bring myself to publish. Writing is in my blood. I am terrible with actually talking out loud, but I could write you a novel. My first blog was very serious and emotional. I put a lot of my heart into it. This blog is going to be vastly different. Before we dive into the blog, let me formally introduce myself (or update those 5 of you who followed my first blog).

I am Lizzie Michalak (formally Disco). I am married to my best friend (though he would tell you that we aren’t friends). I have a beautiful little miracle baby named Georgia (named after her great grandma). I have a degree in communication, which I have yet to use. Before my daughter was born I worked in the public school system as a substitute teacher where I fell in love with being in a classroom. Currently I am a stay at home mom, looking for ways to keep myself busy and sane.

I am a believer in Christ and a solid work in progress (let’s be honest, I’m a hot mess). I am learning to navigate life as a new mom and a wife, while trying not to lose myself in the process. I love all things sweet and sugary. I eat like a toddler (if your toddler won’t eat it, neither will I). I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia at 5, but was raised to never let my disability hinder my life. I love to craft and take pictures (sorry Georgia, you are now my baby model). I am nowhere near perfect, despite what it can look like online (I’m working on sharing the messy stuff too). I love following other bloggers and watching their journeys, as well as learning from those around me.  

This is not going to be a fashion blog, or a food blog, and it may not even be an interesting blog. So if you are looking for an Instagram perfect, Pinterest worthy blog/ life, this is not the place for you. If you are searching for a place to laugh and feel like you have your life together, then I’m here. My life is not glamorous, or even that exciting, but I love to write.
